Samsung has finally introduced its most advanced and fastest Android powered Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100 Smartphone in India which features 4.3-inch Super-AMOLED Plus WVGA (800 x 480) Capacitive touchscreen and is powered by Google’s latest version of Android v2.3 Gingerbread operating system

The Samsung Galaxy S II would be known in India as model FT-i9100 and it featured 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, a more advanced version than the one on its predecessor Galaxy S smartphone model, and is expected to be priced for Rs. 32,900.

The Samsung Galaxy S II GT-i9100 smartphone is Quad-band GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 Tri-band HSPA: 900, 2100, 1700 HSPA type: HSDPA (7.2Mbps) HSUPA (5.76Mbps) compatible and is powered by Dual-Core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 processor with Mali-400MP GPU and Orion chipset, and features 1GB RAM along with 16GB/32GB of built-in flash memory and includes microSD memory card slot allowing up to 32GB expandable memory. A 8GB card is included with the package.

The new Samsung Galaxy S II GT-i9100 is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread plus Samsung’s TouchWiz UI v4.0 touchscreen user interface and has a 4.3-inch WVGA (480 x 800) Super AMOLED Plus Capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors with Gorilla Glass display for enhanced protection from accidental drops and scratches.

The Samsung Galaxy S II also features Accelerometer for auto-display rotate, three-axis gyroscope sensor, Proximity sensor for auto screen shut off while being used for voice call, and four touch-sensitive controls at the bottom of screen.

Only 116 gms in weight, the Samsung Galaxy S II GT-i9100 offers Wi-Fi 802.11 n/b/g/N Wireless LAN with DLNA, WiFi Direct and WiFi Hotspot functionality, Bluetooth 3.0+HS wireless connection, 3G HSDPA 21Mbps, 3G HSUPA 5.76Mbps, and innovative Near Field Communication (NFC) (explained little below), Assisted GPS (A-GPS) and microUSB 2.0 for wired connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy S II GT-i9100 smartphone also include 8 megapixel (3264 x 2448 pixel) rear-facing camera with added LED flash and a front-facing 2.0 megapixel camera for 3G /WiFi assisted video calling newly offered by Android v2.3 Gingerbread. Users will be able to make calls through the Internet using Voice over IP (VoIP) technology.

Coolest thing about Samsung Galaxy S II GT-i9100 is that it offers video recording in full 1080p high-definition at 30 frames per second in addition to H.264, H.263 MPEG4 video recording.

Other features include Haptic feedback vibration, 3D Three-axis gyroscope, Accelerometer sensor for auto screen rotation, Digital compas, Proximity sensor for auto screen off, ambiance light sensor that automatically adjusts screen brighness with reference to surrounding light and 3.5mm 4-conductor headset jack (stereo audio plus microphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S II GT-i9100 smartphone is powered by latest version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform would also includes support for Near Field Communications (NFC) hardware, allowing users to make mobile payments with a wave of their handset. An internal 3D gyroscope will flip the screen as users turn the phone.

The NFC hardware lets you read information from NFC tags. NFC is a fast, versatile short-range wireless technology that can be embedded in all kinds of everyday objects like movie posters, stickers and t-shirts.

The Android 2.3 Gingerbread powered Samsung Galaxy S II comes bundled with standard Google Apps including , Android Market, Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Earth, Google Maps 4.7 with Navigatio, Google Search, Google Talk IM, Google Voice, Voice Actions, YouTube and many more. Then there are over 150,000 apps at Android Market for download.

The Galaxy S II comes with 1650 mAh li-ion standard battery that offers talk time up to 8 hours on 3G ( about 18 hours on 2G) or Standby time up to 25 days on 3G ( about 29.7 days on 2G) network.

The Samsung Galaxy S II GT-i9100 smartphone would be available in Black color starting 9th June 2011 across India for the estimated MRP of Rs. 32,900 with one year standard warranty.
